'Friends' Star Matthew Perry Lists Circular Penthouse In Los Angeles For $35 Million
The most expensive condo listing in Los Angeles right now belongs to one of its most well-known residents. Matthew Perry of Friends fame has listed his 9,000-square-foot full-floor condo in The Century, a 140-unit building designed by Robert AM Stern Architects, for $35 million.
Perry purchased the four-bedroom unit just two years ago for $20 million, down from its original ask of $28.95 million, and hired designer LM Pagano to give it a complete overhaul. The condo is one floor below the 15,000-square-foot two-floor unit purchased by Candy Spelling, widow of successful television producer Aaron Spelling, for $35 million (though it had been asking $47 million). Other notables who have owned a unit in the building include Rihanna, Paula Abdul and Friends producer David Crane.
This new asking price makes it the priciest condo currently for sale in Los Angeles.
The oval design of the building gives rise to distinctive curved edges for the rooms at either end of the unit, as you can see in the picture above of the main bedrooms and its sweeping views of the city. A swing chair adds to the curvy feel, along with hanging lamps and the semi-circle inset in the ceiling for an accent color.
The unit also comes with this redesigned plush home theater pictured below. The Bat Signal feels appropriate for such a lofty perch within the skyline and is just some of the pro-Batman decor in the condo. Check out the video on the listing page for a glimpse at other ways it shows up in the entrance to the unit.
The main living room is along the straighter edge of the oval so there is a framed view of downtown. Discreet mullions at the top of the wall of windows make for a slight detail so there is some definition to the room. Recessed lighting and subtle chandeliers make for a lounge feel.
The kitchen is embracing its neutral palette in one corner of the unit. (Not pictured is a small living room on the other half of the room.) The kitchen comes with two wine fridges, granite countertops and a cooktop island. Sliding glass doors open to the terrace.
Here's a close up of the seating area before the wall of windows looking out onto the skyline.
Amenity fees total $8,814 per month. The building comes with 24-hour concierge, security, pool and gym, private wine storage and in the case of this unit four parking spaces. Greg Holcomb and Cassandra Petersen, both with Compass, have the listing.
